General Information

The finest knowledge from the source you trust most

Area of Focus: General Orthopaedics and Resident Information

You dont have time to read all the literature – and now you dont have to! Hundreds of world-renowned contributors selected, reviewed, and condensed a vast amount of core literature and new developments into a concentrated digest you can trust and use daily. OKU 9 delivers the essence of exceptional orthopaedic practice in a substantial, yet highly accessible format that will save you hundreds of hours!

Organized to provide fast access to answers and information in any setting, OKU 9 is your best single source to update your knowledge of the entire body of orthopaedic literature and prepare for certification or Maintenance of Certification™ (MOC™).

The following sections are covered in-depth:

  • Principles of Orthopaedics
  • Systemic Disorders
  • Upper Extremity
  • Lower Extremity
  • Spine
  • Pediatrics

CME: Earn up to 70 AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits™ for reading OKU 9 and completing the 2008 scored and recorded OSAE examination. The 2008 OSAE, as a standalone program, provides up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits™. You must score better than chance to earn CME credit.

Self-Assessment in MOC™: Credits earned by completing the 2008 OSAE – Scored and Recorded together with either OKU 9 or OKU 1-9 on CD-ROM can help you earn a maximum of up to 70 AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits™ (of which 20 can be applied toward the Scored and Recorded self-assessment requirement mandated by the ABOS Maintenance of Certification (MOC™) process). All 70 credits will count toward the CME credit requirement.

If you choose to take the 2008 OSAE – Scored and Recorded without OKU 9 or OKU 1-9 on CD-ROM, you can still earn a maximum of up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits™ (all of which can be applied toward the Scored and Recorded self-assessment requirement mandated by the ABOS Maintenance of Certification process). All 20 credits will also count toward the CME credit requirement.

ACCME Accreditation: AAOS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. AAOS designates certain OKU products as educational activities for a specific maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in each activity.
