Error: DVD is in the drive, nothing happens on the screen
This problem occurs on Windows XP systems only. Until XP, most PC manufacturers bundled WinDVD, an award winning DVD player software with their computers. With Windows XP, Microsoft wants Windows Media Player to play your DVDs. Windows Media Player support for DVD playback is dependent upon the presence of a supported decoder which you may need to purchase for about $15. The software decoders are available from several vendors.
See Microsoft's Windows XP website to learn more.
After you have downloaded and installed the decoder please do the following:
- Reboot the system and put the ACL DVD should be in the drive
- Double click on My Computer and then Right click once with your mouse on the DVD drive
- When the pop up menu appears click Play instead of AutoPlay
- Windows Media player will open, the movies should play
If you would like assistance with the downloading steps and installation please call us at 800-626-6726 ext. 4112
